About the event

The event brings together a variety of people from different backgrounds to promote Afro-Caribbean culture, celebrate diversity and foster community engagement.

The festival features some of the best performers, vendors, and sponsors from across the region, making it a true reflection of the Afro-Caribbean community. It’s also a great opportunity for visitors to explore the historical sites in and around Freetown, while learning more about Caribbean culture, and its ties to the African Motherland.

This year, the festival includes 8 afro-Soca events – starting off with a pajama party on the 29th, followed by a pool party on the following event. Naturally, New Year’s Eve night will be time for the big event, the Africana Ball followed by J’ouvert, a colorful sunrise dance to greet the New Year. For more info on events and packages, visit the Africaribbean Festival website.
